Dr. Sharad Ramrao Gadakh, born on November 29, 1961, has an extensive service experience of more than 39 years and 4 months, and holds a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology, having served as a Senior Sorghum Breeder for 8 years between 2009 to 2017, and later as the Director of Research from 2017 to 2022, while also taking on the additional responsibility of Director of Education for 3 years from April 1, 2019, until 2022; throughout his illustrious career, he has guided 14 Ph.D. students and 8 M.Sc. agriculture students in their research, and has authored an impressive list of publications including 80 scientific publications, 08 books, 43 technical publications, 144 technical publications, 17 Extension folders, 41 radio talks, and 29 TV talks.
My significant achievements in Crop Production Technology Recommendations-07 include the development of innovative techniques and protocols for crop cultivation. These achievements include the erection of a bower system for cucurbits, techniques for harvesting, grading, and packaging bottlegourd, a 5-point technology for rainfed rabi sorghum, soil-based crop variety selection, and protocols for primary processing of 13 medicinal plant products. These advancements have led to higher productivity, improved crop quality, reduced water requirements, enhanced crop resilience, and standardized processing of medicinal plant products.
